Robert Alter Lectures
Robert Alter recently finished a translation of the Hebrew Bible into English. I was fortunate enough to listen to a video lecture he gave about the difficulties of translating into English. Much of his lecture can be found in his book, The Art of Bible Translation, which I will write about later. For all of you who patiently waded through the three book studies, this lecture is particularly revealing and important. So I am sharing it with you. You will discover a lot of new things, I’m sure.
